Government of India has accorded In-Principle approval for taking up Pre-Project Activities required for setting up NPPs at following site.
- Nuclear Power Project at Mithi Virdi, Gujarat (6 x 1000 MWe), LWR
- Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana (GHAVP) (4 X 700 MWe) PHWR
- Nuclear Power Project at Kovvada, Andhra Pradesh (6 X 1000 MWe) LWR
- Nuclear Power Project at Chutaka, Madhya Pradesh (2 x 700 MWe), PHWR
Accordingly, Term of Reference (TOR) for all above sites are obtained from Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF), New Delhi for carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Studies. For Haryana Site, public hearing is completed and the final EIA based on three season data is submitted to MoEF for Review of Expert Appraisal Committee & Grant of Environmental Clearance. For other projects EIA is in advance stage.
